How can i stop my android emails from downloading

This is untrue. I have a Samsung Tab and an S2. The tablet will not download old messages but leave them for download when I get home. The S2 will download all messages over and over again. I read my mail on the go and deal with it at home. The tab does it but the phone does not. –. Here is how to turn it off: On the main Android home screen find and tap Settings. Select "Accounts and Backup". This may appear as "Accounts Sync", "Data Synchronization", or "Cloud and Accounts". Tap "Accounts" or select the Google account name if it appears directly.  · I can stop it by dragging down the bar at the top, then touch and hold the download and it comes up with App info. I can select that and then force stop, but the download restarts again in a few minutes. I have not selected to update this with Play Store, or anywhere, it just started on its own.

Normally we do not have to download the text messages, they get downloaded on their own. And when you will click the download option that comes along with the message it will not download but say downloading. It will end up there saying the same for ages. Few of my friends have encountered the issue in Galaxy Note 9. By default, Android phones are set to automatically retrieve and download files contained in multimedia messages (MMS). While there is no way to block multimedia messages without blocking the sender, you can disable auto-download. Then I went into the general menu of my phone, into Settings, then Accounts and Sync. There is a Yahoo setting there. My settings are: Background data is ON (apps can sync etc. at any time) - Auto Sync is OFF (apps sync data automatically is off) - My Yahoo Account (eti_erik) says 'Sync off' and there's an icon of rotating arrows.

Moving messages around (a very bad idea) leads to the condition where Mail can't find that message when it connects to the server, so to keep Mail and the server in sync, it's downloaded again. There's no reason to move messages from the Inbox, unless you're sorting them into other Mail folders. If you stop doing that, you won't have this problem. Tap Settings your account. Under "Data usage," tap Images. Tap Always show. Note: If Gmail thinks a sender or message is suspicious, you won’t see images automatically. Instead, you'll be asked if you want to see the image. Ask before showing images. If your internet connection is slow or you want to save mobile data, turn off images. I have an LG G5, using Android. I am using Messaging, not Messenger. Can receive but can’t open some text messages from an iphone. Says to Download the message but download always fails. I just change my setting from Wifi to Data and then try again. Message downloads. This has worked for the past few years for me. Hopefully this helps.
